ABOUT US

Welcome to the new and improved BritishBoxing.net website, the Internet’s definitive home for all things boxing-related in the UK.

BritishBoxing.net (BBN) is the official unofficial online venue for British Boxing. Already accepted as the authoritative place for British results, reports and fight records, BBN’s role has now expanded to help revolutionize the coverage of the sport via fight webcasting (using your PC as a TV to watch fights).

BBN TV has its own distinct section which will be host to many small hall shows in the future, bringing you fights that otherwise wouldn’t get airtime right to your home via your broadband connection for as little as £3.50. Go and try the product before you buy – Derek Williams’ promotion from the Hackney Empire is ready for you to watch on the site right now for free!

We have an incredible number of boxer records available which date right back to the beginning of gloved boxing. There are currently over 66,000 records within our databases – and we are constantly adding more for you to access.

One of our central aims is to find records of former professional boxers for relatives and friends. Also, if requested, we can usually provide more detailed information, like fight reports and photos etc. After registering with us (easy to do and free too!), the records of all boxers who have fought since 1985 are free to access.

For fighters between 1946 and 1985 there is a small charge – but this is reduced depending on the amount of credits you wish to purchase. For boxers pre-1946, contact us for a quote which will depend on the amount of research that has to be undertaken. Other sites offer records, of course – but BBN’s are guaranteed to be accurate. Site owner and boxing historian Kevin Taylor has every single copy of Boxing News since 1945 and many from the magazine’s inception in 1909. Along with his many other volumes of records, our researching powers are second to none.

Promoters, officials, trainers and managers’ records are showcased and a particularly interesting page is our Suspensions List – outlining the details of all boxers currently suspended from action.

For the fight fan who likes to have access to the latest British boxing news, you will be pleased to know we have a great team of writers led by our News Editor, well respected boxing scribe Ian McNeilly. The editorial team’s diligence and network of contacts ensures we get plenty of exclusives. BBN are the only new media organisation to have national press accreditation.

Regular visitors to BBN already know that most of the boxing stories which make it to the national newspapers and magazines are already old hat as far as we are concerned. And for those who like to voice their opinion on the news, an option to post comments on all the stories is available. If you want to be at the cutting edge of the British fight scene, you have to come here! Go and check out the men who bring you all the stories, reports and interviews at the Team Members section.

Although Britain is still the undoubted central focus for the site, those who want to check out results and schedules for Europe and the rest of the world can now do so directly from BBN.

Along with a much-enhanced online shop where you can choose from loads of fight memorabilia such as autographed prints or gloves, the new BritishBoxing.net experience really will be a one-stop shop for all your British boxing needs!

If you have any comments/suggestions about the site please feel free to contact us by e-mail, phone or by post.

All the staff at BBN hope you become a regular visitor.
