Time is against me at the moment so I'll be quick. Busy weekend of punting ahead.
Lee Meager v Jon Thaxton, British Lightweight title, Friday December 8th, Sky Sports 1, 10pm
Meager is another Hennessy fighter who has been well trained and well managed - he's improving and done very well to get where he is. But the quality of opponents he's faced doesn't match up to Jonno's and this can sometimes make a difference.
Yes, Jon is getting on a bit (hard to believe he's still only 32 actually) but he's always in great shape and he still carries a dig.
I think Thaxton might actually stop Lee but I don't really like round betting unless you are having a daft, speculative shout.
Bet of the Week: Thaxton to beat Meager, Evens with William Hill
Danny Williams v Audley Harrison, Saturday 9th December, ITV4 20.45, ITV1 22.05
What a joke - and a bad one at that - this card has become. I can't even be bothered to go into it and after losing money on both of these fighters in the past, I won't be wasting a penny on either of them. Harrison has been priced up as favourite...but who really cares? I know I don't. I know, I know, I'll still watch, just like you.
If you are desperate:
Harrison to win on points, 13/8 with Bet 365
Amir Khan v Rachid Drilzane, ITV as above
Khan fights another non-puncher. Do Sports Network know something we don't? Anyway, odds of 1/16 are about right but totally prohibitive so you are left with the lottery of a round pick. My eyes lit up when I saw 100/1 available for an eighth round stoppage with Bet365 for Khan via BestBetting...but they'd got the boxers the wrong way round.
Khan wins. How? Probably by stoppage and might be earlier than expected. The kid can really bang. Again, not one for me but if you want a flutter:
Khan to win in either rounds 1, 2 or 3 (betting individually on each of the rounds works out at around 13/8 with Paddy Power)
