Lee McAllister of Aberdeen has got what he really wants, a “World Title” fight! It may be a relative trinket in the treasure chest of title belts, but when the posters go up for the bout, it will be a “World Title Bout”. John Ingle, Lee's manager in Sheffield, has been quoted as saying; "After Lee's performance against Odamattey we are willing to put him in the ring at lightweight or light-welterweight for a world title fight.” The date for the “world title fight” is the 6th of October this year in Aberdeen, at either the Beach Ballroom or the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. Assuming the bout does take place, and it is for the “World Title”, then the requirement for additional space could be met by using the latter venue with its capacity of 1200. With a record of 24 wins from 25 outings, a meaningful bout for Lee is long overdue, not least for McAllister himself, but also for his family and the fight fans in the North East, who've been so supportive of the “Assassin” in his five year career in the paid ranks. Lee has done everything that has been asked of him, winning three other belts of the trinket variety, the British Masters, the Scottish and lastly the WBF Intercontinental title. WBF world champion Mlungisi Diamini of South Africa has been mentioned as a target, but it is understood the title shot could be with another organisation. It is at this point that my natural cynicism springs to the fore, with memories of unfulfilled promises littering boxing. I'm optimistic that the Ingle team in Sheffield will fulfil their promise and deliver the goods. The interest stimulated in the city already, is tangible proof of the “Assassin's” drawing power, and as far as the city is concerned it is on and failure to deliver will not be acceptable to the public, and far less so to Lee McAllister.

the king Jul 4th 2007, 16:44:22 by bathgate abc having watched lee in his last fight i think he would stand a chance against any1 at lightweight or lightwelter at world level . amir kahn is a bum lee would ko him in 2 ! earl has no chance limond couldnt lace his boots and thaxton couldnt get his zimmer frame out way 2 get near lee ! he deserves this chance lets hope the ingles pull there finger out
