Argo’s star turns pro by Tom Walker Jul 23rd 2007

David Savage jnr is the latest product of ABS Ltd to convert to the paid ranks; he's recently signed with Tommy Gilmour, after a successful career with the vest and head guard. David has just turned twenty-one and boxed out of the Argo ABC in Drumchapel in Glasgow. He's represented Scotland on three occasions, having been the senior champion at Bantamweight and won bronze at the senior four-nations, with a further four times as Scottish youth champion and three times Western District champion on his record. His all time favourite boxer was Kostya Tszyu, which is pretty apt for any young aspirant pugilist as he'd have to be regarded as one of the all time great boxers. From the messages seen on the forum up here many of Scotland's clubs wish David all the best and are confident he'll make his mark on the professional ranks with his style of boxing.
