Kirkcaldy is to have a 'world' title bout added to the undercard on the 14th September in the Ice Rink. Polish heavyweight and holder of the WBF belt at that weight Albert Sosnowski will defend his title against Argentinean Manuel Pucheta.
Sosnowski has a record of 40 wins from 41 bouts and was featured on the undercard of Barry Morrison's defence with Colin Lynes in Motherwell and indeed he looked pretty mobile for a heavyweight, stopping Frenchman Steve Herelius in ninth round of that defence.
Pucheta has a reasonable record with 18 wins (12 by KO) from 19 outings, but was stiffened in the second round of his bout against a Brazilian Edegar Da Silva when he defended the WBC Mundo Hispano (Spanish speaking world) heavyweight title in 2006, having won it in October 2005 by stopping Cesar Acevedo in the fifth of twelve scheduled.
It should be interesting if hardly earth shattering in boxing terms, as the Pole moves quicker than most cruiserweights. In any event it is another title fight that Fife's fight fans weren't expecting for their money.
