As usual, some very interesting matches are on the horizon for a variety of titles. Kevin Anderson gets a quickfire return for his British welter title against surprise but convincing victor Kevin McIntyre. Esham Pickering attempts to restore order to his career with a voluntary defence of his British title against Sean Hughes, who beat the champion in a non-title eight-rounder recently. Wee man Ian Napa and Martin Power do it again in an intriguing match up later this month. On the European title front, the EBU have asked for purse bids for contests potentially including Matt Skelton and Nicky Cook. both of whom have seen their careers derailed in 2007.  Jamie Moore gets a long overdue crack at the Euro crown on December 8th. Contender star Paul 'Smigga' Smith faces Steve Bendall in an intriguing looking match for the English strap.  The latest instalment of the domestic heavyweight not-so-merry-go-round continues with Michael Sprott defending his English title against John McDermott.  And in what promises to be a cracker, Craig Watson is matched for the vacant English belt against Matthew Hatton. British Championship Welterweight Kevin McIntyre (holder) v Kevin Anderson Barry Hearn will promote the above voluntary defence at Kelvin Hall, Glasgow, on 29th February, 2008. Welterweight (final eliminator) Kell Brook v Mark Thompson Frank Warren won the purse bids to stage this contest on 8th December at the Bolton Arena. (It is unlikely this fight will go ahead as Thompson's camp have said they aren't ready and are looking for a deferral - Ed.) Super-bantamweight Esham Pickering (holder) v Rendall Munroe Purse offers are called for the above for 12th December with the contest to take place by the end of April 2008 but not before 16th February.  The Board has approved a voluntary defence by Pickering against Sean Hughes at the Barnsley Metrodome on 18th January.  The winner must defend against Munroe by the end of April or the title will be declared vacant. Bantamweight Ian Napa (holder) v Martin Power Frank Maloney promotes this defence which will take place at Newham Leisure Centre on 30th November 2007. European Championship Alexander Dimitrenko (holder) v Matt Skelton Purse bids due in on Thursday 22nd November. Zaurbek Baysangurov (holder) v Jamie Moore This contest will go ahead on December 8th in Wigan. Alberto Servidei (holder) v Nicky Cook Purse bids due in on Thursday 29th November. English Championship Heavyweight Michael Sprott (holder) v John McDermott Purse bids due in by December 12th. Cruiserweight Robert Norton (holder) v John Keeton Purse bids in by 12th December. Middleweight (vacant) Paul Smith v Steve Bendall Frank Warren promotes this contest on 2nd February - venue tbc. Light-middleweight Andrew Facey (holder) v Mark Lloyd Errol Johnson promotes this contest on 19th January at Wolverhampton Civic Hall. Welterweight (vacant) Craig Watson v Matthew Hatton Purse bids due in by 12th December with the contest taking place by the end of April 2008. Super-flyweight Andy Bell (holder) v Wayne Bloy Matt Scriven promotes at Nottingham's Victoria Leisure Centre on 1st December 2007. Celtic championships Welterweight (vacant) Barry Jones v Gary Young Frank Warren promotes at Edinburgh's Meadowbank Leisure Centre on 15th December 2007. Light-welterweight Stuart Phillips (holder) v Paul McCloskey Purse bids due in by 12th December with the contest taking place by the end of April 2008.
