Sheffield lightweight prospect Nicki Smedley has contacted BBN to put to bed rumours circulating on internet forums concerning his career.
"Rumours have it that I have fallen out with Fight Acadamy and Dennis (Hobson - Smedley's promoter), that I have gone with the Ingles and my weight has ballooned," the youngster said today.
"First of all my weight is around 10st 10 at the minute, people who are saying that will be able to check this out on Friday on More 4 at 8pm as I did an interview with them yesterday. That should clear that up.
"I am quite happy with Fight Acadamy and Dennis is doing a great job for me and is also a great person to get along with so that must clear that one up too.
"I have never spoken to the Ingles in any way shape or form and I'm quite happy where I am and now I am back in training, I hope in 2008 I will be boxing for a title.
"The reason I was out of training is that I had a severe groin strain which gave me pain in the lower back and the doctor advised me not to box on the 29th September on Clinton's bill (Woods, Smedley's stablemate and IBF light-heavyweight champion).
"I was gutted and so was every one around me, but 2008 I know will be a good year."
