First Manchester Fight Nights this Weekend by Kevin Taylor Feb 6th 2008

This weekend Manchester-based television station Channel M and Salford boxing promoter Steve Wood, launch their new monthly boxing programme, ‘Manchester Fight Nights,' this weekend with two hour-long shows. Highlight's from the recent VIP bill in Colne will be screened on Saturday evening at 19.00 with action from the annual ‘Jolly Boys' event shown at the same time on Sunday. "These dedicated programmes are so important for up-and-coming boxers. We've got three ABA champions and two junior ABA champions coming through and in the past they would have gone straight from small hall shows to appearing on one of the major satellite channels where nerves can get to them," said promoter Wood.
