European Lightweight Title Weigh-In by Kevin Taylor Apr 3rd 2008

Tomorrow night (Friday) sees the European lightweight title fight between Yuri Romanov and Jon Thaxton at the York Hall in Bethnal Green, London promoted by Hennessy Sports. At today's weigh-in both fighters were well inside the 9st 9lb championship limit. First up was the challenger, British champion Jon Thaxton who weighed in at 9st 8.25lbs, looking in great shape Thaxton gave a wry grin to assembled press and onlookers. The champion Yuri 'The Tsar' Romanov was next onto the scales again he scaled under the championship limit, coming in ten ounces under the required weight.
