Thaxton relinquishes British title by Kevin Taylor Jun 12th 2008

Jon Thaxton has relinquished his British lightweight title and former champion Lee Meager will now meet John Murray for the vacant belt on the 11th July 2008, no venue has been confirmed as yet. Thaxton has be named as the one of the mandatory challengers for the European lightweight title which has been given up by Yuri Romanov. Manchester's Murray has relinquished the English title at the same weight and that title will now be contested between John Fewkes and Martin Gethin before the end of October 2008.
