Ajetovic loses in Oz by Ian McNeilly Jun 27th 2008

Geard Ajetovic failed to win the IBO middleweight belt today when he was widely outpointed by Australian champion Daniel Geale. Sydney-based Tasmanian Geale won by scores of 117-111 (twice) and 120-109. Anyone who has watched the Hartlepool-based Serb/Scouse knows it can be a very frustrating experience as, although undeniably talented, he finds it almost impossible to maintain a decent work rate.  Reports from the Australian press (the bout was in Campbelltown, Australia) seem to indicate that Ajetovic boxed in his customary spurts whereas the champion set a reasonable and consistent pace. Geale is now unbeaten in 19 whilst Ajetovic drops to 16-2-1.
