Bobby Vanzie escaped a suspension at the Board of Control's disciplinary hearing last week in London.
Arising from his unsuccessful challenge for the British Lightweight Championship against Graham Earl in July 2004 the allegations, verdicts and penalties imposed on Vanzie were as follows:-
For arriving more then an hour late at the official weigh in scheduled for 2.00.p.m. the previous day Mr. Vanzie was fined the sum of £100 with £100 costs (which has now been paid).
For leaving the ring prior to the announcement of the official decision in such a manner as could be deemed unsportsman like behaviour Mr. Vanzie was given a reprimand.
For comments made to Sky Sport in a televised interview which were deemed to have brought the sport into disrepute Mr. Vanzie has been fined the sum of £500. This fine however is suspended for a period of two years subject to Mr. Vanzie not being found guilty of any similar charge during that time by verdict of either an Area Council or the Board.
