Amir Khan today announced that he will outclass Colombian opponent Breidis Prescott at the MEN Arena in Manchester on Saturday night.
Khan laughed off Prescott's suggestions that he will knock him out on Saturday. "I will outclass him, I am quicker, stronger and more powerful, there is no way that will happen." said the unbeaten lightweight from Bolton.
"Who has he fought? He has never stepped into the ring with anyone like me, he is all talk.
"I have seen some videos of him and he can box but he doesn't have my speed, power or intelligence."
Promoter Frank Warren said that the unbeaten Colombian is the toughest test in Khan's career to date.
He said:"This is his biggest fight by far because he is the most dangerous guy he has faced.
"Prescott's knockout ratio is tremendous and he will be throwing some big bombs at Amir.
"He is obviously confident he can take Amir with his fourth round predictions and Amir needs the fear factor to bring the best out of him."
Warren was reluctant to outline exactly when Khan will get a shot at a world title.
Warren added, "If I let him he would have a world title fight now but he is not ready as I keep telling him.
"He still needs to learn his trade. It is not winning a world title that counts but retaining it time and again and he is not ready for that. He has to work more on defence and a little bit more on his pace.
"He fights at a very fast pace and sometimes needs to slow down and that comes with experience and maturity. I would just like to see a couple of improvements then he will be ready to go.
"Fighters fight with their heart, thats what they do, but he needs to think a bit more."
