Morgan heaviest Prizefighter contender by British Boxing Sep 12th 2008

Darren Morgan is the heaviest competitor in tonight's Prizefighter Series Heavyweights 2 tournament. Morgan, who was also heaviest in the first event in April, tipped the scales at 19st 1lb 7oz at yesterday's weigh-in, held at the Jury's Inn hotel in Newcastle. The Welsh fighter weighs more than three stone more than the lightest competitor – Derbyshire's Luke Simpkin at 15st 13 1/2lb. Tickets are available from £25 at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle on the night with the first of seven quick-fire contests starting just after 8pm. The trophy was transported to the venue down the River Tyne by the Royal Marines.
