"Pocket Rocket" is a story of heroism, of a boy born and raised on Belfast's Shankill Road, the stronghold of Ulster loyalism, who might have become a different kind of fighter, had his fists not been so handy when he put on the gloves, insulating him from the darkest elements of Northern Ireland's troubles. In this revealing autobiography, McCullough describes the extent of his despair when he was told that one more punch could kill him and recalls how his fight against Harrison nearly did. He tells of the breakdown in his relationship with his family and his manager, American media mogul Mat Tinley, who set him on the path to professional boxing stardom in America.
