Rising amateur boxer Joe Murray again underlined the fact that he is more dangerous abroad than the US foreign policy by securing England a Bronze medal at the EU Championships in Dublin.
Murray beat Italy's Vattorio Parrinello on points to secure the medal ahead of a semi-final showdown this Friday against Germany's Denis Makarov. Victory for Murray on Friday will secure him at least a Silver medal as he continues to shine on the international amateur stage.
Murray – boxing in the 54kg weight class – produced a classy boxing display to take a 30-12 margin.
Joe was untroubled throughout the bout and underlined his dominance with a hard left hook at the end of the first round.
The scores were 15-9 after two rounds before Joe raced into a 22-11 lead in round three then closed out round four on his toes whilst still managing to close the fight 30-12 overall to head into the penultimate round.
The final takes place on Saturday and BBN will keep readers up-to-date with Joe's progress.
