Community Service for Harrison by Kevin Taylor Mar 10th 2008

Former WBO featherweight champion Scott Harrison was today ordered to carry out 200 hours community service after a disturbance in a pub. Harrison was sentenced after earlier admitting a breach of the peace and resisting arrest in the incident at the Counting House pub in Glasgow in April 2006. Harrison who has re-applied for his boxing licence was told by Sheriff Lindsay Wood that his behaviour, along with that of co-accused Paul Hinde and Christopher Lennon, gave Glasgow a "bad name". Harrison had earlier been cleared of a separate charge of assaulting a police officer on the same night at Glasgow City Centre Police Station. Harrison's last bout was against Nedal Hussein in November 2005, he is currently waiting to hear from the British Boxing of Control if he can resume his career, with a potential clash with fellow Scot Alex Arthur being touted for later in the year.
