Prime Minister Brown meets Olympic team by British Boxing Mar 20th 2008

Prime Minister Gordon Brown has met with members of the British Olympic boxing team ahead of their bid for gold in Beijing. Brown welcomed the athletes, trainers and former featherweight world champion Barry McGuigan to his House of Commons office yesterday. McGuigan told the PM that there was an "undercurrent of talent" in British boxing and that the sport had never been in better shape. We're here to say thank you and to celebrate that investment and the achievements of these young men," said Brown. The Beijing Olympics will run from 8 to 24 August 2008.  Team GB currently has seven qualifiers and a last chance coming soon in Athens to increase this already highly impressive figure.
