Former WBO Cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli has admitted that he is ‘obsessed' with regaining his title ahead of his comeback fight on Saturday 19 July.
Maccarinelli's opponent for the bout has yet to be named.
Speaking to Setanta Sports News during Steve Bunce's Boxing Hour Enzo revealed: “I don't like being called the former world champion. I want to be called world champion again. I'm going to do everything in my power to get that belt back.
“I don't care if I've got to go to Germany, America, Russia, wherever.”
Maccarinelli lost his title to David Haye in a cruiserweight title unification bout back in March. Since the defeat Maccarinelli has been determined to get back in the ring.
“That sort of loss is going to eat me up. People keep telling me to forget it but I can't forget it. I keep reminding myself. I made a few mistakes in the build up to the fight, I made a few mistakes on the night and I paid the ultimate price.
“I've been back in the gym ever since the loss and I feel like a caged animal, I'm ready to be let off the leash.
“I've proved my doubters wrong before and, obviously, I've got more doubters now than before so I've got to prove it all again."
