Boxers swap gloves for boots to support Paisley by Kevin Taylor Oct 4th 2007

Fight fans have the chance to meet their boxing idols when they take to the football pitch on Sunday afternoon to raise money for former boxer James Paisley who was badly injured in a motorbike accident. Paisley broke four vertebrae when he was knocked off of his bike and there are fears he may never be able to work again, he definitely won't ever fight again.  Boxing fans will have the chance to be pictured with Ricky Hatton as he makes his last public appearance before he takes on Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas in December. Other boxers confirmed are Paul Smith, Alex Arthur, David Haye, Tony Oakey and Martin Power as well as a host of celebrities and other boxers. The first game will kick-off at 2pm, and there will be four games of 15 minutes each half. The event takes place at Thurrock FC, Ship Lane, Grays, Essex, RM19 1YN Ticket prices are £10 and £5 for under-12s and after the matches there will be a memorabilia sale and a DJ.
