Shock as EABA drops Khusainov of Russia‏ by Tom Walker Oct 29th 2007

The Executive Committee of the European Amateur Boxing Association (EABA) removed former president Mr. Eduard Khusainov (Russia) from its Association in an extraordinary EC meeting held in Chicago. The EABA EC voted 14 for, and one against for the removal of Mr. Khusainov after the Russia Boxing Federation had notified the EABA and AIBA early in October of its decision to withdraw its support for Mr. Khusainov in the role of EABA President. The EABA EC went on to confirm the EABA 1st Vice-President Dr. Sandor Csotonyi (Hungary) as the acting president of the EABA. The next meeting for the EABA Executive Committee will be held during the European Union Championships from November 30 to December 2, 2007 in Lille, France.
