Carl Froch's assault on world honours might have to be delayed.
Britishboxing.net understands that Denis Inkin is having trouble making the scheduled March 29th date at Froch's hometown Nottingham Arena due to as yet unspecified medical grounds.
The fight was to be for the Russian's WBC International title in the super-middleweight division but, more importantly, was to serve as a final eliminator for Joe Calzaghe's full WBC belt.
Froch and Inkin are the respective numbers one and two in the organisation's rankings.
If Inkin is unable to make March 29th, it is not yet known whether promoters Hennessy Sports will look to move the show to a later date or draft in a late notice opponent for Froch. If the latter, it is unlikely that the bout would retain its final eliminator status.
Many hardcore British fight fans are particularly looking forward to the chief supporting bout, a potential cracker between Sheffield's John Fewkes and Manchester's John Murray for the English lightweight title.
